Interviewing actress, singer and YouTuber: Magdalene Baron

1-. How was your childhood?

It was pretty good. I was raised in two different cultures: Polish and American. My mom is from Poland and my dad is from Wyoming USA which makes me Polish-American. I also have an older brother who is in the computer science field. I also learned that there is a Polish community in the San Fernando Valley. I was back in Poland in August and it felt like a wave of nostalgia cause I haven’t been back there in 3 years since my grandmother passed away. I always remember my summers in Poland.

2. - From what age did you decide to be an actress and how did you know you had the skills to go on TV?

I did perform in talent shows with singing from a very young age in elementary school. I’ve wanted to be an actress since I was 9 as a hobby. I did drama in middle school, but not in high school because I was busy with school. I may have the skills to go on screen by how I can project my voice and how I get lines in my head from films, tv shows, and plays.

3. - Did your parents support you in the decision you made to be an actress?

They did support my decision in becoming an actress. I just need to make sure I’m networking and staying productive without being stuck in my house all day. I even tried looking on social media at what my acting and film friends

4. - What was your first appearance on the screens?

It was mostly on stage in school plays in the elementary school(showstoppers), middle school. Lady Pirates of Captain Bree, Cybermare, and Monster Journal
Community College One Acts Festivals and two of the Productions of Murder Party of 10 and All In the Timing.
Also, CTVA or Film student assignments, one is called Farewell and there is another one where I played Persephone but in a modern twist. I also was an extra in a short film Circa 1919.

5. - What was the role you liked the most?

My favorite role I’ve ever done on stage was playing Neima in 10 ways to survive life in a quarantine. She’s a very fun character and I loved my costume for it so everytime I see a squirrel or a colorful striped cardigan I think of her.
And Saras from Skulls by Eugenie Trow, she was a vulnerable young struggling to find herself in a dark place before becoming a sacrifice.

6.- What do you think led you to fame?

I started YouTube when I was 14, It was an outlet to show people what I can do and I’m not afraid of being myself. Sometimes fame can be dangerous so I believe in remaining humble and not forgetting who inspired me.

7-. What types of characters would you like to interpret?

Scream Queens: I was called a scream queen by a professor(shoutout to Larry) after being in a directing final(shoutout to Daisy) and I’ve been practicing my art of screaming. Also watching Mia Goth in Maxxxine gave me a boost of confidence.
Complex female characters like Beth Harmon in Queens Gambit.
Heroines from either a fantasy, period, romance, or dystopian.

8-. What actresses and actors do you feel comfortable working with?

Any of them, famous or not as long as they are good people and fun. I remember being an extra in Circa 1919 and the cast was not only talented but really genuine and fun to talk to.

10.- Do you have any anecdotes that have marked you in your life and as a person?

The story I have is when I fully understand more about the LGBTQIA+ community when I first watched The Danish Girl with Eddie Redmayne and it made me feel so emotional that some people can be so needlessly cruel to them based on their sexuality and gender. As a Christian, I always believe in treating people with respect and kindness regardless of appearances, religion, and sexuality.

11.- What has been your greatest achievement?

I don’t really have any greatest achievements but when I figured out some of my posts on Tiktok have so many views including my performance video of me singing Anti-Hero by Taylor Swift. I never would’ve thought that it would blow up out of nowhere.

12.- What projects will you make next and which ones do you have in mind?

I’m currently auditioning for short films plus also for America's Got Talent. I also am looking for a part time or full time job to support myself even though I may have a crochet jewelry business now to make income while on the job hunt. If anyone wants a crochet bracelet based on your favorite film, tv show, drink, color, or music album etc
