Interviewing actress Star Nefer

1.-How was your childhood?

I grew up in a quiet small town, surrounded by the beauty of a simple, bucolic life. Some of my fondest memories are of running freely outdoors, collecting little treasures like bugs and leaves, and feeling endlessly inspired by nature. That sense of wonder and imagination has always stayed with me — it’s part of what fuels my creativity as an actress today.

2.-From what age did you decide to be an actress and how did you know you had the skills to go on TV?

I was a teenager when I first stepped onto a set, and it felt like home instantly. Being handpicked by different directors for featured roles gave me the confidence to recognize that I had something unique to bring to the screen. The joy I felt on set made it clear — this was the path I was meant to follow.

3.-Did your parents support you in the decision you made to be an actress?

Yes, I’m truly grateful that the people who brought me into this world have always supported me in my endeavors — not just as an actress, but in whatever dreams I choose to pursue and grow into.

4.-What was your first appearance on the screens?

My first screen appearance was in a scene with Jada Pinkett Smith and Queen Latifah in Girls Trip (2016). Even though it was a small role, it was an incredible experience — being on set with such powerful women at the very start of my career left a lasting impression and inspired me to keep pursuing this path with gratitude and determination.

5.-What was the role you liked the most?

That’s a tough question for me, because I’m still in the process of auditioning and exploring roles all the time. What I can say is that I feel grateful for every opportunity I’ve had so far — each role has given me a chance to grow as an actress and, hopefully, to both entertain and inspire others. I believe the role I’ll love the most is still waiting for me.

6.-What do you think led you to fame?

I’d say I’m still in the early stages of my journey and relatively unknown, but I believe even names carry energy — and perhaps mine subtly nudged me toward the world of entertainment. If fame ever comes, I see it as a byproduct rather than the destination. What truly drives me is the chance to inspire people through art and storytelling.

7.-What types of characters you would like to interpret?

I’m naturally drawn to roles that embody both elegance and intensity — characters with a magnetic presence and a profound transformation beneath the surface. I see myself bringing to life complex women who balance power and vulnerability in equal measure, leaving not
only a lasting impression on the story, but also an emotional resonance with the audience.

8.-What actresses and actors do you feel comfortable working with?

I feel comfortable working with any fellow actor who truly respects the craft and leaves ego at the door. The most powerful experiences happen when we become so immersed in the story that the world around us disappears — until we hear that single word, ‘cut.’ Those are the moments I live for on set.

9.-In what other genres of art would you like to participate? (Works of theater, music, among others)

I’ve always deeply respected the craft and dedication of Broadway actors, and I would love the chance to be involved in more stage productions. There’s something magical about live theater — the immediacy, the energy, and the direct connection with the audience.

10.-Do you have any anecdotes that have marked you in your life and as a person?

One moment that truly marked me was when I realized how deeply storytelling and performance could transform both myself and others. I went through a time in my life where I felt misunderstood and even confined by other people’s perceptions of me. Acting became my way to reclaim my voice — to channel pain, love, and transformation into characters that others could connect with. That experience taught me resilience and gave me a sense of freedom. Every role since then feels like a reminder that art doesn’t just entertain — it heals, liberates, and leaves a mark, both on the audience and on me as a person.

11.-What has been your greatest achievement?

I feel my greatest achievement is still ahead of me. Every project I’ve taken on has been a step toward refining my craft, building resilience, and discovering more about the kind of actress I want to become. What excites me is that my journey is unfolding — and I see each role as a chance to create something unforgettable.

12.-What projects will you make next and which ones do you have in mind?

I see my next projects as stories that inspire, transform, and captivate. I’m drawn to characters that embody elegance, depth, and resilience — the kinds of roles that linger in people’s minds long after the credits roll. While I keep an open heart to the opportunities ahead, I imagine myself stepping into projects that explore love, power, and transformation in ways that feel both timeless and fresh. What excites me most is that the best projects are still to come.

13.-Would you like to make a movie in Spain?

Spain is absolutely gorgeous. I had the chance to travel along the southern coast from Algeciras through Marbella up to Málaga, and I was struck by the beauty, culture, and spirit of the region. To be part of a film project there would be an honor — I’d be thrilled to contribute to a story set in such an inspiring place.

14.-You like Spanish cinema?

Yes — I really enjoy exploring international films, and Spanish cinema in particular has such freshness, depth, and emotional honesty. A recent favorite of mine is The 47 (El 47), a 2024 film about a bus hijacking in Barcelona. It’s powerful not only as a story, but also in how it brought awareness and impact to issues of social justice and community.
