Interviewing actress Brittany Vadnais

1-. How was your childhood?

My childhood was crazy. I was a military brat, so I grew up all over. Before I moved the first time though I was eight. I remember spending my childhood and the summers of (when we would visit from wherever my dad was stationed) on my late grandpa’s farm. We’d shuck corn, and run around outside like kids do. I was also doing theatre and dance when I wasn't playing around or watching cartoons like a normal kid. My mom would let me audition for Barney so the theatre was the closest I could get to TV/Film until I was out of conservatory.

2. - From what age did you decide to be an actress and how did you know you had the skills to go on TV?

I knew since I was a little girl and found out you could do it as a job. I never knew I had the skills to be on TV. I still haven’t been on Network Television but now I’ve had the training necessary to be able to book that first co-star on streaming. I am going to be in a show on a Christian Streaming Service Pure Flix and it will be on Roku. So I will be streaming on the TV (or phone however you watch your streaming services) , but I can’t say much yet. I signed an NDA.

3. - Did your parents support you in the decision you made to be an actress?

Yes. Always.

4. - What was your first appearance on the screens?

It will be sometime next year when the show finishes filming, but I’ve been on small screens in internet film festivals.

5. - What was the role you liked the most?

I loved this small role I had in a mini web series. It was so fun, I had to be scared and I got to play a victim. I died. Dying onscreen is always fun.

6.- What do you think led you to acting?

I danced and did theatre for a long time. At the final showcase of conservatory I was burnt out. I didn’t want to sing or dance (at the time), but I absolutely fell in love with acting. I’d never have gone into the theatre if my mom said no to Barney. I wanted to act. So I switched to film/Tv.

7-. What types of characters would you like to play?

I’ve always wanted to be in a Romantic comedy. It’s funny because I’m not a romantic person at all, but that’s the joy of acting. You can be whatever you want to be.

8-. What actresses and actors do you feel comfortable working with, since you are also a filmmaker?

Ones I know are professional and can arrive and do the job, while having a good attitude. I like to play and have fun but when it’s time to work we work.

9-. In what other genres of art would you like to participate? (Works of theater, music, among others)

I’d love to do some more theatre again, the burn out of theatre is wearing off. I’d love to do music. I love singing. I want to produce and direct a film told through dance. I want to do a lot. And I will. Just take it one day at a time.

10.- Do you have any special moments that have marked you in your life and as a person?

The moment I first stepped onstage. The moment I found out you could get paid to act. The moment I found out I like creating and directing. The moment the teacher asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up and everyone said, “Doctor, Lawyer, Teacher.” but I said “Actor.” She just said, that’s nice.

11.- What has been your greatest achievement?

This role I have coming up. I’m so proud of myself and I mean that in the least selfish way. I mean it in a “I worked for it” way.

12.- What projects will you make next and which ones do you have in mind?

I’m working on a Cyber Warfare film, it’s in pre-production along with two others. Others I have in mind…so many. Too many.

13.- Would you like to make a movie in Spain?

That would be awesome.

14.- You like Spanish cinema?

I don’t normally watch it.
