Interviewing actor Luing Andrews
1-. How was your childhood?
I was raised in Richmond Surrey England, being brought up in such a beautiful part of the world I guess I feel now as an adult very lucky, as a child you take such things for granted.
I always say my father was a very harsh horrible strict man but what made up for that was that I had the most loveliest mother any child could wish to have!
2-. From what age did you decide to be a actor and filmmaker and how did you know you had the skills to go on TV?
It wasn't until I was 29 years of age before I realised I wanted to become a stuntman and originally got into acting through stunt performing. From there I joined the ATS Drama school (Actors Theatre School) in Kilburn London where I trained for my LAMDA, and then a RADA summer pass for which I passed with flying colours.
3-. Did your parents support you in the decision you made to be an actor?
By the time I got into acting I wasn't living with my parents, I was actually married and living my own life, although I must say my mother was one of my biggest fans.
4-. What was your first appearance on the screens?
My First ever film job was a film Called "CALLED HOME" It involved a stunt where I fell over a cliff edge, my agent put me up for it because of my stunt training, I personally didn't think I'd get it as then I wasn't a proper trained actor! However, I was given the role and from that day onwards my acting career was launched and since then I've only ever wanted to succeed in the acting world.
5-. What was the role you liked the most?
I can't say there is one particular role that favours the rest, I've enjoyed all my roles and experiences and if you google me or imdb me you will see I've worked with many stars and successful actors over the years from Timothy West to Vinnie Jones and many many more.
I do enjoy Movie / Film making more than TV soaps, Dramas or Theatre only because with independent film making one never knows if you are working on the next iconic block buster movie or where even a low budget movie can go.
6-. What do you think led you to Fame?
I always say Fame is not what I'm about, I just would love to make my sole living out of making movies.
7-. What types of characters you would like to interpret?
Over the years I've played many different characters, I enjoy a challenge no matter what the character is. However, I do find myself being cast for roles like Nasty Gangster, thug and hard man role! I guess I'm in a way type cast because of my appearance. I'm totally fine with being type cast as I get plenty of work offers coming my way.
8-. What actresses and actors do you feel confortable working with?
I only like working with professional like minded actors that give it there all as I always do! Nothing worse than working with performers that haven't prepared for their roles and can't remember lines. It's unprofessional and shouldn't be allowed in our industry.
9-. In what other genres of art would you like to participate? (Works of theater, music, among others)
I've worked on many theatre shows and my only other Genre that I love is writing, I've written a few scripts and two books, my first book is called 8ish and it was originally written as a film script by myself, in the first Covid 19 Lockdown an author friend helped me change it into book format and I decided to send it to 4 top publishers not thinking I'd hear back I actually received back offers from all of them and went with the best offer. I'm a published Author which not every author can say.
I've recently had the sequel 9ish also published by my publishers.
10-. Do you have any anecdotes that have marked you in your life and as a person?
A wise old actor friend of mine who has now sadly passed once said to me ' Keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer" A statement I truly live by.
11-. What has been your greatest achievement?
My Greatest achievement in life I believe is all the acting roles and my 2 published books, walking into a top bookshop and seeing my own work on the shelves is pretty amazing. I also enjoyed immensely my boxing career as a youngster. 21 first round knockouts and 1,2nd round knockout looking back was an excellent record.
From then on I went into Kick boxing for which I also really enjoyed.
12-. What projects will you make next and which ones do you have in mind?
My next movie is called 'NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH' which is an Amiee Graham movie being filmed in LA this year, I also have a film with TUMBLE FILMS being shot late summer in London England, with another movie from Tumble Films Being made at the end of the year called 'DEAD GET AWAY'
I've just got with a new LA based agent and hoping for a great successful future with them.
13-. Would you like to make a movie in Spain?
SPAIN well whats not to love! Well what can I say, if my two books get taken up by a film maker my next book in same series will be called 10ish and this is planned to be shot in Alicante Spain. I absolutely love the Alicante region of Spain and I actually have a Spanish agent who is the sister of one of the great "IL DIVO" the late Carlos Marin.
14-. You like Spanish cinema?
I do tend to watch a lot of Spanish Dramas and films especially on NETFLIX.
