Interviewing actress Dasha Voro

1-. How was your childhood?

I had a lucky childhood! My parents wanted me just to be a good girl, they didn’t push me to choose my career, so I had freedom to try myself in different directions.. The question was that I didn’t have chances to try myself in different directions in my home town.. That’s why I didn’t choose any acting university. When I was 17 years old to tell you the truth I didn't realise what I wanted..

2. - From what age did you decide to be an actress and how did you know you had the skills to go on TV?

Once I had my first eurotrip through France, Holland, Germany and I got acquainted with a girl who told me about an interesting occupation. She was telling me : “I come to shootings and all I have to do is just to drink tea and eat some cookies, and they pay me for that..” I was curious what was that and decided to try.. Few months later I got acquainted with an acting agent , made some pro photos and started to go for shootings - as later I understood it was extras. I remember when I was sitting on a chair as extras, and was looking at a girl who was a leading actress and thought: how is that to be a leading actress?

Later I asked my agent for possibilities to try as a leading actress. I was so confident asking about that))) meaning - what is the reason was to make pro photos if I cannot try to play as a leading actress..? She didn’t expect such a question.. And she agreed to give me a chance. When I was 19 I was invited as a guest star to a TV show. It was that magic moment when I saw how the movie set looks : a lot of camms around, the special lights, locations, canteen food))) It was my first movie fee.. I was in love with all of that. I was a student and had an exam on philosophy and the shooting day was on the same day, and I wrote a letter to a professor to give me a chance to take an exam on a different day, I explained why- that it was my chance to try myself as an actress..She agreed. Magic..

3. - Did your parents support you in the decision you made to be an actress?

At first they asked : Are you sure about that? Let me explain.. When I finished university in the capital of Ukraine, I didn’t want to come back to my hometown. So I needed to earn money.. I tried to work as a teacher for a month, then as a waitress in a casino. I remember that I didn’t like it so much that I called my dad and was about to cry, and he told me :If you don’t like it - go home! I did))) By the way working as a waitress for 3 hours in a casino helped me to get my first role in a commercial, and later it became extremely popular around my country. To tell you the truth I was at casting for 2 years with no big approvals. The manager told me after I got my big role - usually when an actor gets a role like this, he will have a lot of approval later in other projects. Oh this magic word : Hi Dasha, you are approved for the project” sounds like the best gift in the world.. So much I liked everything in that and still love - the process, the make-up, dressing, the preparations of the light and so on, the result, the final party..

4. - What was your first appearance on the screens?

Answered before))

5. - What was the role you liked the most?

I had a movie called “The ruler” directed by italian director Silvio Nacucchi in Italy : https://www.imdb.com/title/tt12782962/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk. It was a challenging role and I was waiting for it since I realised I wanted to be an actress, to tell you the truth.. In general I love watching movies a lot, and when I read the scenario - I was in love with my character as she had many unpredictable sides. The idea of a film - 4 people wake up in a locked room. Only 1 can survive.. What was unusual for me -  to make almost the whole movie in one shot. It means you had to play a role for more than 60 min nonstop, remember all movements, follow the movement of one camera and han no much time to prepare yourself for strong and different emotions in right moments.. As it is a psychological thriller you can imagine the atmosphere of requested emotions and realities..

6.- What do you think led you to fame?

“The Bachelor”, a popular TV show around the world. In Ukraine it was the first and new project for the country. I didn’t know what fame looks like, feels like, but after this project I definitely knew..))) As you remember I tried so many castings and when I saw the ad on TV, I decided to try this chance as well. I didn’t realise what it could be in reality, but I applied, had an interview and was approved. I was just curious how they create this show -such thoughts were in my mind..

7-. What types of characters you would like to interpret?

I love biographies very much, so I wish I could have possibilities to try a role of a singer or actress or sportsman. I play tennis since my childhood so I know the way of sportsmen’s thinking and emotions..)) And I wish to try a historical role - any period 1850-1970. When you put on a dress of any of that time - you recall something as if you know from that period of time..sounds like magic..

8-. What actresses and actors do you feel comfortable working with?

Professional and helping to create a great story..

9-. In what other genres of art would you like to participate? (Works of theater, music, among others)

As you noticed I am a researcher by nature and everything I tried was a request of my inside child, no special education. I tried theater but I realised that I love camera more. So I would like to participate in music, maybe as a singer or cosigner. By the way, I participated in music videos of Ukrainian artists:  Potap and Nastya - “U mamy”, a very popular hit. the link : https://youtu.be/nYUedpGbfqc?si=bGAmPxoXPH9iTxHZ

And recently I played an interesting role for an Italian group : IamPoison - “Specchio” - a very beautiful music by a group of a talented singer and a musician!!! The link : https://youtu.be/PkLyNr_gdJ4?si=Bz0LSi9mmZQAiZnv

No explanations required - just watch and enjoy and you will understand..

10.- What has been your greatest achievement?

To meet a movie star. I watched a movie “Eat,pray, love” and I liked the episode in Bali. There was Ketut LIyer - a wise buddist to whom Julia Roberts came for advice. I cannot call it an achievement but something I would remember all my life and be thankful for. I came to Bali and met him, he didn’t meet guests but his son did. I was a bit upset. But suddenly he came out and came up to me!!! He was holding my hand, I remember his hands were warm and he was saying something in Balinese language. Oh I wish I could understand..

11.- What projects will you make next and which ones do you have in mind?

I cannot really say about my plans, but I can say I am trying some projects I didn’t do before..)

12.- Would you like to make a movie in Spain?

Absolutely.. I even studied Spanish a bit. And once when I have any possibilities to create something in Spain - I can study the language better))

13.- you like spanish cinema?

Yess, I watched many but what comes to my mind first : Tres metros sobre el cielo . My most favourite artist is Salvador Dali, and I impressed by biography of Balenciaga. I adore Spanish people, they are very smiling, generous, kind and so creative!!! I love Spanish food and architecture a lot..
