"A Dream of Cinema" (theater) written by: Carlos Miguel
Act 1: The First Steps in Oviedo
Scene 1: Carlos's Office
(The stage is filled with film magazines and a whiteboard with notes on actors. Carlos is at his desk, reviewing interview recordings. Ana enters excitedly, holding a coffee.)
-Ana: (excited) Carlos! Your interview with Javier was incredible! All of Oviedo is talking about it.
-Carlos: (looking at the screen) Yes, but I feel like I need something more. I want people to feel what I feel when I talk to them.
-Ana: (resting her hand on Carlos's shoulder) So why don't you take a chance? Make a documentary about the process of actors in your city. People need to see the effort behind fame.
-Carlos: (thoughtfully) That could work, but do you think anyone would be interested?
-Ana: (determined) Of course! There's an audience that wants to know what's real. Your passion can resonate.
(Carlos smiles, feeling the spark of a new idea. He stands up from his chair, full of energy.)
Act 2: The Leap to Los Ángeles
Scene 1: Clara's Call
(Carlos is in his apartment, the room is filled with movie posters. The phone rings; it's Clara. He answers nervously.)
-Clara: (in a warm voice) Carlos, I'm impressed with your work at the festival. I want you to come to Los Ángeles.
-Carlos: (with a shaky voice) Really? Yeah, sure! But... do you really think I have what it takes?
-Clara: (confidently) Absolutely. The authenticity you bring is unique. You just need to show yourself as you are. I need you on my next project.
-Carlos: (incredulous) I can't believe it. I'm going to do it!
(Hangs up the phone, sits on the couch, and stares at the ceiling, thinking about the magnitude of the opportunity.)
Act 3: The Transformation
Scene 1: Filming the Short Film
(The set is bustling with activity: lights, cameras, and a crew at work. Carlos feels overwhelmed, but Clara encourages him as she reviews the script.)
-Clara: (approaching) Carlos, today is the day. Trust yourself. You are the character.
-Carlos: (nervous) I don't know, Clara. I feel like everyone is so talented...
-Clara: (with an encouraging smile) Everyone started somewhere. The key is to be authentic. The camera will capture that.
(Carlos takes a moment to reflect, holds the script firmly, and takes a deep breath.)
-Carlos: (with determination) You're right. I'm going to give it my all!
(As he prepares for the scene, he listens to the director's instructions and feels his confidence begin to grow.)
Act 4: The Recognition
Scene 1: Short Film Premiere
(The atmosphere is electric in the theater. Carlos is on the red carpet, wearing an elegant suit. Cameras click and the audience murmurs. Ana is in the crowd, holding a sign that says "Go, Carlos!")
-Carlos: (feeling the pressure) This is... overwhelming!
-Ana: (shouting from the crowd) You can do it, Carlos! You're amazing!
(Carlos smiles when he sees Ana and feels renewed energy. At the end of the screening, the audience gives a standing ovation. Carlos takes the stage, his heart pounding.)
-Carlos: (with tears in his eyes) This moment is bigger than I could have imagined. I'm not just here for myself, but for everyone who believed in me, especially my friends and family in Oviedo.
(The audience applauds, and Carlos feels more connected to his origins than ever.)
-Javier: (from the back) That's it, Carlos! Proud of you!
Act 5: The New Life in Los Ángeles
Scene 1: Challenges and Doubts
(Carlos is in a meeting with other actors, surrounded by talent. He feels insecure, comparing himself to them.)
-Carlos: (quietly) They're so talented. Do I really belong here?
-Pedro: (his partner, noticing his insecurity) We all have our doubts, Carlos. The important thing is to keep going and learn. Remember that all these actors are afraid too.
-Carlos: (sighing) Sometimes I feel like an imposter.
-Ana: (on a video call, looking optimistic) That's normal! The important thing is that you keep working on yourself. Your story is unique and worth it.
Scene 2: Reconnecting with Oviedo
(Carlos organizes a charity event in Los Ángeles ngeles to support young talent from Oviedo. The space is decorated with film memorabilia and photos of his hometown.)
-Carlos: (speaking to the audience) I want to give back to the community that gave me so much. Each of you has a voice that deserves to be heard.
(The audience applauds, some are moved. Ana and other friends from Oviedo support him from the front row, proud of their friend.)
-Ana: (excited, raising her hand) We're with you, Carlos!
(Carlos is overwhelmed by the support. He turns to Ana and smiles.)
-Carlos: (sincerely) This wouldn't be possible without you. Thank you for always believing in me.
Reflections and Dreams
(Carlos, in a final monologue, talks about his journey as the curtain closes.)
-Carlos: (with a firm voice) I've learned that it's not just about fame, but about the connections we make. Life is a journey full of ups and downs, but we must never forget our roots. Oviedo will always be in my heart.
(The curtain falls as the audience rises to applaud, celebrating not only Carlos's success, but also the power of dreams, friendship, and perseverance.)
